Keto Buns

Keto Buns

Are you having trouble giving up bread on your low carb journey? If so this will get you through your carb cravings. At only 5g of carbs per serving its a great option you won’t regret. You can make these into rolls, sub buns, hot dog buns, garlic bread or just about anything you can think of. The larger the roll the higher the carb count, but in comparison to a traditional roll you can’t beat it.

This is just about the best roll recipe I can find. It’s Maria Emmerich’s Low Carb bread Recipe. It’s also posted on the Diet Doctor website and shows a better picture of how the buns look.  I changed the recipe slightly by turning it into 8 rolls rather than 6 for a lesser carb count and more rolls. I also added 4 drops of my sourdough extract from OOOFlavors for some added flavor.

With Christmas just passing I made these for the first time with my traditional Keto Christmas meal of turkey, gravy, cauliflower mash and sugar free cranberry sauce. And it did not disappoint. Even better when enjoyed as leftovers in a turkey bunwich. I’m not sure if you’ve ever had one of these but growing up in Canada it was a common “day after” Christmas treat. Basically it’s just a bun with turkey and mustard or you can instead dip it in gravy. I can’t wait to try this as garlic bread or stuffing which used to be some of my favorites before turning to eating keto. Because I have yet to find good recipes for either.

These were mine that I made at Christmas. So as you can see the rolls were a good size. And they tasted amazing. I had omitted the sesame seeds in the original recipe only because I didn’t have any.
